The Prep

  • Be sure not use retinol 1 week prior to your appointment

  • Do not apply any products to brows the day of your appointment

* You must be off prescriptions that thin the skin for 2 weeks prior to appointment. i.e. Accutane, Tretinoin, etc.

The Aftercare

  •  Avoid getting your brows wet for 12 hours after completing a brow tinting treatment

  • Clean around the area with gel or cream-based cleansers

  • Avoid using exfoliating scrubs or oil-based products around the area as it will likely cause the tint to fade at a more rapid pace

  • We recommend maintaining a consistent touch-up schedule, usually between four to six weeks, to maintain your new brow color

What is brow tinting?

Brow tinting is the process of applying a soothing, semi-permanent color to enhance, shape, and define your brows. With brow tinting, you can choose from various colors to find the perfect shade for your brows. This service will give the appearance of a more vibrant colored eyebrow, making them appear fuller and darker. We customize each color to achieve the client's preferred look. Whether you are looking for a warm natural brown or a cool blonde, we make it happen with the wide range of colors we have at our disposal. Clients don't have to experience a "one color fits all" attitude! 


How long does the tint last for?

The brow tinting dye will last about one month on the brow hairs. If you experience stains on the skin after a brow tinting session, it will only last a few days for most clients. Not everybody will experience staining of the skin.

We also offers lash tints (aka lash color enhancement), which is the application of colors on the lashes from root to tip. This type of tinting service gives a beautiful deep, shiny black color. No need for mascara! Nue Beauty offers other colors for lash tints as well. Men tend to appreciate a shade of brown, so it is most often applied unless we are asked otherwise prior to treatment. Lash and brow tinting are excellent for men with blonde lashes and brows.

What is the process?

An average brow tinting session takes only about 15 minutes from start to finish. First, clients meet with their professional to discuss how full and natural they desire their brows to appear. We then clean and prep the brows and apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly around the client's brows. This is an attempt to prevent any unwanted and accidental skin staining. 

 

We carefully mix the custom color and apply the dye to the eyebrows. The process will go with and against the growth pattern of the hairs to obtain full brow coverage. The coloring remains on the brow hairs for a few minutes to attain optimal color. We remove excess dye with a towel to prevent smears. After the brows have been perfected, it is time to enjoy the full and glossy result!

Is this service safe for everyone? 

Eyebrow tinting is safe for most of the population. The dyes used on the brows are similar to those used on the head, but it's helpful if clients suspect they may react to the dyes to test a small patch test in another area of the skin, such as behind the ear. If you are more comfortable having a test patch completed, contact us to schedule a 24-hour patch test to ensure you do not develop any reactions to the dye.

 

If your skin becomes irritated after any treatment, reach out to Nue Beauty and apply a calming solution or cream over the area. You can also apply cool, damp compresses on the area to soothe it and put a product like Aquaphor or Vaseline above or below your eyebrow area to protect the skin.
